AxHydro-OptTM is deployed in live daily operations on a complex, multi-reservoir cascaded river system, where its efficiency gains have been tested in the real world — established through multi-year backcasting studies against historical operations and confirmed in real operations. What it does

  • Unit-level generation scheduling. Hourly (or finer) dispatch of flow, power, reservoir levels, and spill for every generating unit across an entire cascade, over horizons from a single day to a week or more.
  • Configurable cadence, down to minutes. The time resolution and re-optimization cadence adapt to the client's operating tempo — from day-ahead planning to very short cycles (within minutes) where operations demand it, a cadence the system architecture is designed to accommodate.
  • Ancillary services co-optimization. Energy dispatch and frequency-regulation (AGC) capacity are optimized in a single, unified solve — not sequentially — so regulation commitments are always physically deliverable.
  • Digital twin. A calibrated, physics-based forward model of the plant, verified against operational data to sub-tenth-of-a-percent accuracy under typical conditions, used for what-if analysis, validation, and counterfactual backtesting.
  • AI across the full stack. An AI layer assists the operator at every stage of the workflow — preparing and sanity-checking inputs, setting up and running the optimization, and interpreting the results — and explains why the optimizer made each decision, keeping humans in control of every dispatch.
